IBM Cloud quarterly revenue once again increases by 20 percent

April 18, 2018

Following a 20 percent increase in the third quarter of 2017 and a 30 percent increase in the fourth quarter, the first quarter of 2018 once again saw IBM Cloud revenue rise by 20 percent year-to-year.

Cloud revenue was $17.7 billion over the past 12 months. The as-a-service annual exit run rate for cloud revenue was $10.7 billion in the quarter, up 25 percent over the same period in 2017.

Most data — about 80 percent — lives within enterprises. IBM is helping clients such as Salesforce, Hertz, Cloudflare, Bradesco, and New Relic unlock their data, glean insights from it and develop deeper relationships directly with their customers, while maintaining security.
