Sector-wise, the telecommunications industry has taken the brunt of these attacks, displacing the banking sector, which had historically been the prime target. A significant rise in ransom-driven assaults has also been noted. About 12% of Cloudflare’s customers reported being extorted, marking a startling 78% increase from the prior quarter.
