Mexico’s landscape already includes Microsoft’s extensive cloud regions and Google’s anticipated region in Querétaro, signaling an increasingly competitive environment. Alibaba Cloud aims to penetrate the market by leveraging its substantial global presence, which currently stretches across 16 cloud regions and 33 availability zones outside mainland China—complemented by its robust domestic network of 14 cloud regions and 56 availability zones. Their history reflects a strategic pattern of expansion, with regional developments that include an array of data centers in major APAC cities from 2017 to 2021.
